Forgiveness

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Colossians 1:13-14

The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28 (NIV)

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV)

I was thinking about Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. How Eve was tricked into eating the fruit from the forbidden tree. Through the craftiness of a serpent she was led to believe that is was for her own good. She let desire for the world interfere with her decision to obey God.

When you think about Adam he was probably knew  God would exile Eve from The Garden Of Eden. His memories of the loneliness before she came, and his love for her, thoughts of all they had shared in each others life, made him sure that eating the fruit would be his only hope to hang on to Eve. The first sin may have well been for love on Adams part.
